Over the last week we’ve slowly packed up the apartment and reassembled our life back into the van. Surprisingly there appears to be room for all the new stuff. The Sprinter never ceases to amaze me.
We’re taking more advantage of the roof for sure. We’ve got the rocket box fully loaded, and the kayak is stuffed with gear as well. You may also notice we now have a bike rack on the back hitch. This is allowing us to move the bikes to the outside of the vehicle, which is freeing up a ton of room under the bed.
Overall I’m pretty happy with the space allocation. I think we’re gonna be just fine out there on the road.
We’re both excited, and a little nervous to head back out on the road. We honestly aren’t sure what to expect traveling our nomadic lifestyle with an infant in tow. We couldn’t ask for a better baby to try it with though. Soleil is a champ. She’s so easy.
Lately she’s been taking an interest in the family business, so I’ve been teaching her the ropes of Outdoorplay. What can I say… she’s a natural.
Beyond that, we’re just enjoying our last few days in a modern city before heading back out on the open road. We’re eating as much good food as possible and taking advantage of all the amenities. I think that is going to be the biggest shock of going back out there… you know, the lack of things. Things like hot water showers, kitchens, bathrooms… stuff like that. It’s not that we don’t ever get it, but it’s much more limited.
Me personally, I’m happy to trade those things for freedom. And in a few more days we’ll be totally free again.
